Luke Scott

Luke Scott is a Scottish Baritone in his first year of Masters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, under the tutelage of Gary Coward. He has recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music where he studied under Thomas Schulze. During his time at the RNCM Luke has played the parts of Sid (Albert Herring), Frank Trulove (The Rake’s Progress), Nardo (La Finta Giardiniera), Tagliaferro (La Buona Figliola), Coquenard (Véronique) in the RNCM Opera Scenes. In the RNCM’s production of Street Scene, Luke performed the role of City Marshall Henry. On the opera stage Luke was accepted onto the Buxton International Opera Festival’s Young Artist Programme where he performed in their productions of Verdi’s Alzira and Mozart’s Idomeneo. Luke helped to co-produce a production of The Telephone by Menotti in which he performed the role of Ben, it was performed in the Carol Nash Recital Room in the RNCM. Recently Luke performed as part of the chorus for British Youth Opera’s production of The Enchanted Island by Jeremy Sams. On the concert platform, Luke has recently sung as a soloist in Rameau’s In Convertendo, and covered the role of Christus in Bach’s St. John’s Passion. He performed as a soloist as part of the RNCM Songster’s Day of Song concert series. Recently Luke was a finalist in the prestigious Elizabeth Harwood Memorial Prize held at the RNCM. Other upcoming highlights include singing as a soloist in an upcoming Rachmaninoff Festival. Luke sings in a variety of languages and dialects; English, Scots, Finnish, Swedish, French, Italian, German and Russian. Luke is proud to be a Leverhulme Arts Scholar for the Leverhulme Trust who support his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
