Hello, it's nice to e-meet you! I'm Luke, a bass guitarist from Northamptonshire. With extensive gigging experience as a bass guitarist within the Tribute-band scene, I pride myself on my versatility, my professional attitude and my keen ear to learning new music. Within the tribute industry, a deep understanding of musical deconstruction and attention to detail is what elevates a band above their competitors, and it is my confidence in this key skill that I believe will let me stand out as the desired musician for your function/event. Being offered new musical challenges - be it through complicated musical arrangements or through the provision of an extensive set-list at short notice - is what motivates me as a musician. My skill and abilities are what carry me from there. I take my professional conduct very seriously - I understand the importance of time-keeping and accept the knock-on effect this can have on a bands reputation. I maintain my equipment regularly, ensuring your event is not hindered by a dodgy cable or electrical failure. I also understand my role within the band. As a bass guitarist I enjoy being the glue that combines both the rhythm and melody sections together, offering the audiences the groove that they can move to. Don't expect unsolicited solos or overplayed bass lines that have a negative impact on the fluidity or style of a song. I respect music, I respect my place and I am very open and honest with my abilities and scope. If you need a bass guitarist for your event or project, please do reach out! I'm always happy to talk through your requirements and will love to support you in any way possible!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I have spent a decade in a successful tribute show and my stage presence and commitment to the sound and music has been praised on many occasions by our clients and audiences.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've played in stages of different sizes, from corner spaces of small pubs through to main stages of large festivals, and I've traveled across the UK multiple times in doing so!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

As a bass guitarist, Stuart Zender and Paul Turner (Jamiroquai), Chris Wolstenholm (Muse), Colin Greenwood (Radiohead). As a musician in general, I've been very influenced by bands like The Beatles, The Stone Roses, Blur and The Smiths, as well as Stevie Wonder, Weather Report, Jamiroquai and Muse

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

I've supported The Lightning Seeds, Space, Doctor and the Medics, Clive Jackson and more, as well as headlining multiple tribute and local festivals across the UK

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I understand that timings may change, and I will endeavour to accommodate any changes to ensure the fluidity and success of an event. If the desired performance timings increase however, this *may* be subject to additional charges.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

At this time unfortunately not something I offer, however I would be open to discussing other ways in which I can support your show if necessary.

How much time do you need to set up?

Approx 30 minutes - this would include a standard load in from a nearby loading area, and include a line check of my instrument and equipment.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

I am happy to learn a number of new songs for your show as this will contribute to my growing repertoire. Please allow me sufficient time to learn these songs though, as song requests made in the few days leading to and including the event may not be possible.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

As a bass guitarist, I supply my bass guitar, pedal, amplifier and amplifier head. I also have the ability to run on my own in-ear monitor system if this helps.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Providing I have sufficient time to learn the song and become competent with the song and the particular arrangement (some live versions of songs differ in both structure and key) then I am happy to learn specific songs before an event. If I have any difficulties with doing so in the proposed timescale, I will escalate my concern immediately.
