Born in Germany in 1992, Lukas Hank moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 5 and began learning the violin 2 years later. He studied with Kathryn Hardman in Bristol from the age of 13, until he began his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in September 2010. Since his debut playing the Bruch Violin Concerto at the age of 16, Lukas has gone on to perform concertos by Bruch, Saint Saens, Mendelssohn, Chausson, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Sibelius and Shostakovich, including performances at the Colston Hall and St George's in Bristol. As an orchestral musician, Lukas has played with many orchestra's around the UK including the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Sinfonia Cymru amongst others. He is also in demand as a concertmaster regularly leading the Arch Sinfonia, Cardiff Sinfonietta, the Royal Academy Consort and the Davinci Players, giving performances throughout the country. As a keen chamber musician, Lukas has played for Her Majesty the Queen, given a recital at Wigmore Hall and was featured on a BBC documentary about Lloyd Coleman, a composer at the Royal Academy of Music. In 2014 Lukas graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with a First Class honours degree. Whilst at the Academy Lukas studied under the 'Joseph Bloch' scholarship with international soloist Remus Azoitei as well as recieveing master classes and coaching with other internationally acclaimed violinists including James Ehnes, Pavel Fischer, Jack Liebeck, Thomas Brandis and Maxim Vengerov.
