Lucy Fox is a Saxophonist currently studying a MMus Instrumental Performance Degree at Birmingham Conservatiore. Lucy began learning the saxophone at the age of 11. She was part of Sandwell Youth Music Service's for 10 years where she was given the opportunity to tour across Europe visiting Italy, Switzerland, and Austria. In 2012, Lucy began her Bachelor of Arts Degree specialising in classical music performance at Leeds College of Music under the tutelage of Sarah Markham where she discovered her interest in contemporary classical repertoire and techniques. Of particular interest to Lucy is the collaboration between artforms, combining visual and aural simuli together in performance. Lucy was awarded The Principles Scholarship Award in 2013 for her performance of a contemporary classical piece. Lucy recently premiered 'MUD', a new work by composer Chris Jolly for two saxophones, loop, and effects pedals, with fellow Saxophonist Rosie Lord. Lucy has recently graduated from Leeds College of Music with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree, and the Rotary Club of Leeds Cooke-Webster Prize. Lucy is now commencing her postgraduate study at Birmingham Conservatoire where she will be studying a MMus Instrumental Performance Degree.
