Hi there! I'm Lucy, I am a music therapy student working as a performer and music teacher in the local area. I am a music graduate of Newcastle University. I am a classically trained pianist, saxophonist and trumpeter. However these days I play in big bands, a punk-indie-ska band, and frequently play wedding gigs with sax and DJ. So, whatever your musical vision is, we can work together to curate a musical experience that is just what you need! I am currently available as a wedding/events singer, and as part of this performance I am happy to include my other instruments (saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, piano) if this was of interest to you, (possible additional fee, depending on work load.) I am an Irish singer and love beautiful lilting melodies, however I equally enjoy singing all sorts, and can work with you to make a playlist of songs that is best suited to your tastes. Otis Redding, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi - we can do it all! If you have booked a DJ for your event, I am happily able to offer an Ibiza-sax style performance if the DJ is happy to collaborate. Alternatively, I can play to a backtrack and work with you to curate the best playlist for you! I have been performing for 15 years now and have notably soloed in Belfast's Ulster Hall and Newcastle University's Kings Hall, and had a short term residency in an Irish bar in Greece (Crete.) I am also available for hire as a community musician. As a trainee music therapist I work with various communities of people, notably at the minute, adults with profound and multiple physical and learning disabilities. I am available for 1:1/small group SEN sessions for both children and adults; I offer these at a discounted rate as I am in training. I am also keen to gain experience with the following client groups; dementia and mental health support, behaviour reform. A large part of my work in music therapy is centred around improvising with clients and so feel comfortable improvising in many styles and on many instruments. DISCLAIMER; I can not work as a music therapist until I am qualified (June 2025,) I can only opperate under the banner of 'community musician.'

Lucy performed on our wedding day, both during the ceremony and reception. Lucy provided fantastic entertainment to our guests, performing with piano and as a singer. Lucy was able to learn requested songs with ease and performed them beautifully on the day. I would highly recommend Lucy for any musical needs.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I am happy to be as flexible as possible to help ensure your event runs smoothly :) If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know. If there are significant time changes, 48 hours notice would be greatly appreciated.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I absolutely can provide a spotify playlist for in between sets, free of charge. Please let me know prior to beginning if you require this.

How much time do you need to set up?

I have only a small PA to set up which should take less than 30 minutes. I can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for the live performance!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

My set lists are carefully curated from extensive experience, ensuring they create the perfect atmosphere and leave your guests with lasting memories. That said, I’m always happy to collaborate with you to tailor the music to suit your event perfectly!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I currently rent my PA/tech equipment from a friend; if your venue has equipment I can utilise this can cut down on set-up times. However, happy to bring what is needed, obviously including my own instruments.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

I’m happy to learn up to 3 songs for your event with a minimum of 10 days notice. If a song isn’t included in my song list, there’s a high chance I may already know it—just let me know! Any additional song requests will be charged at a rate of £20/song to take into account extra rehearsal time.
