Lucia McGinnis has over 25 yrs experience in the wedding music industry in Northern Ireland and is currently based in County Londonderry / Derry and performs in Northern Ireland and Donegal areas. Lucia first heard the harp played whilst on holiday in County Clare, and it has been an obsession ever since. Lucia was taught harp in the Irish aural tradition where learning by ear was encouraged, and continued to develop skills at the University of Limerick. Lucia is performing as a guest artist with Basork (A Balkan Orchestra) and a is member of the Hellas Ensemble. Lucia has also performed for Her Majesty the Queen at the official Royal visit of the Titanic Centre Belfast 2012. Resident harpist at a luxury wedding resort in Lebanon. --------------------- My name is Lucia and I am a wedding harpist based in the Northwest of Ireland. I love playing wedding ceremonies, civil ceremonies and civil partnerships. I always feel very privileged to be involved in such an important day in a couple's life. It can be particularly rewarding playing songs and pieces that I have arranged or learnt just for that couple, which is why I am always happy to receive special requests!

Lucia was so easy to work with and with her expertise, a perfect playlist highlighted different elements of the Ceremony. The sound and presence of a harpist created the atmosphere we wanted during the Partnership Ceremony and afterwards at lunch. Thanks for everything.

Lucia played at my night before drinks reception for my wedding. She was speculator, she set the tone for the wedding. All my guests commented on how beautiful the music was. Would recommend her to anyone.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument to play acoustically

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
