London’s busiest jazz band with over 300 gigs in the last 3 years. 95% of those gigs are re-bookings. New to Encore.
I booked the Love for Sale for a private event with around 90 guests. The booking was smooth. The day before the gig John visited the venue to see the space and figure out how to best set up the equipment. On the day the band arrived on time, they set up quickly and efficiently. As there was a 50's theme to the event , the musicians were really happy to make that extra effort and dressed up to match the era. That was brilliant. They also tailored the list of jazzy pieces they played on the night. The music was just right , created the perfect ambience for the guests to have a conversation and as it was on a very high level people would enjoy it fully focused. Everyone in the band were very friendly and had a lovely aura about them. Their positive approach made the collaboration a pure pleasure. Overall I am very satisfied with the Sale for Love and would highly recommend them!
Love For Sale is London’s most booked jazz band with over 300 gigs in the last 3 years. 95% of those gigs are re-bookings. We are relatively new to this site (encore) but well-established as the first band to call in London and the South East In the last year alone, we've played... Corporate events: Christie's, Cineworld, Royal College of Art, Fritz Hansen, Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Haringey Council, Cambridge University, University of Westminster, Covington and Burling, The Cultivist, I&A studios Weddings and Private parties: these events are as individual as the client but this year has seen weddings large and small in city centre hotels and in country houses. Birthday and anniversary venues similarly range from restaurants to marquees and celebrate 35, 40, 50, 60 and 70! There are lots of reviews on the site or we can put you in touch directly with any of our recent clients. Hotels and restaurants: Bourestin Piccadilly, Conrad St James (residency), Little Hay Golf Complex, Silvermere Cobham Venues: Ruby's Dalston, The Woodman Highgate, Bernie Grant's Arts Centre Tottenham, The Greyhound Inn Chalfont St Peter, Megaro Kings Cross With 95% rebooking, we'd be happy for you talk to any of them We play Blue Note jazz – the cool 1960's jazz that even non-jazz fans like. Cool and sophisticated (not cheesy or difficult). We’re instrumental – there is no vocalist craving attention. Guests can listen as much or as little as they like and go back to chatting, eating and drinking. We play the room – if the energy needs to go up or everyone prefers to chill, then our choice of tunes on reflect that. We’re grown ups. Reliable, responsible professionals who adapt to different situations and set ups. And we're professionally managed too so all that stuff that can make musicians hard work to deal with - PO numbers, invoicing, scheduling, logistics, equipment, being there on time, every time - are covered. You can focus on the event itself. We can play 24 hours, 7 days a week, 12 months a year. Instead of risking deps, we are a group of six musicians who play bookings as a quartet. We rehearse together and can cover for each other when it comes to holidays, illness e.t.c. We've played a gig with only 3 hours notice (not our ideal!) And we love to play...that's what makes Love For Sale so different from 'function' bands. We are a real band playing live somewhere in London every week (Check out our f page - Love For Sale London - for the latest dates).
All our tunes come from the classic Blue Note era of jazz in the 1960's. Its cool and sophisticated but not cheesy or 'difficult.' And its also instrumental - there is no vocalist craving attention - so the event is the main attraction. The current repertoire numbers nearly 100 tunes and with over 300 gigs to date, we've learnt how to pick the right tune for the room in front of us. Whether the energy needs to go up or we need to let things chill, all the tunes are ready and waiting. No two events are the same. As well as weddings, we've played funerals. As well as Mayfair hotels, we've played care homes and street markets. As well as Christie's and Sandhurst, we've played artist's studios and living rooms. The tunes we choose evidence grown ups playing to make the event a success.
Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate it.
