About Lorna

Freelance session violinist. Performed at many events/venues including the Royal Albert Hall with Don Broco for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Violinist
Gosport

I am classically trained and experienced in pop, rock, musical theatre. I have a BA Music from the University of Southampton majoring in violin performance, and am currently studying an MA in International Music Management (also at UoS). The highlight of my career so far was gigging with Don Broco at the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust on 21/03/22. An insane experience all-round, and all I could think while I was on the stage was "this is what I want to do, this feels right". My favourite pit band experience has been playing violin for The Producers in The Plaza Theatre, Romsey. The music is scored for four violins, but due to space issues and the size of the band, it was just me. It was great because it was obvious who was playing, and I could let my sound shine out! I am studying a masters in International Music Management at UoS, the knowledge from which I intend to use alongside a freelance performing career, or artist management. The good bit is that I know all the ins-and-outs of copyrights, PRS, funding applications and tour management. Performing makes me inexplicably happy and I want to offer audiences a proper audio-visual experience, and above all to continue doing what I adore!

We asked Lorna to put together a string quartet to play at our wedding, both throughout the ceremony and the reception. We found Lorna easy to work with throughout the process, and she was attentive to the songs and genres we wanted. Lorna made time to speak to us over video call to confirm important details for our big day in the weeks leading up to it. On the day her quartet sounded great both in the church accompanied by a piano during worship songs, and throughout the reception while guests were mingling. Thank you Lorna for adding a special touch to our day.
