About Long Dogs

Long Dogs - just fabulous musicianship and great calling! Live music and dance; value for money and fun from start to finish!
Ceilidh band
Llanidloes
Public liability insurance of £10 million

A ceilidh by Long Dogs is fun from start to finish! Perfect for so many events - weddings, parties, charity fundraisers, private events, corporate functions and many more...... Dan, Pete and Di are all gifted musicians who care about your event. They work with any plans you have for the running of the event and are friendly and adaptable. Di, Long Dogs Caller, is naturally humorous and enthusiastic in her approach. She will walk the dancers through the whole dance before any music starts and always calls the next steps in good time as the dance goes on. Long Dog's repertoire is varied - lots of Irish and Scottish jigs and reels, of course, but also a few surprises too! Dan sings and Di plays cello and wind instruments, when she is not calling....Long Dogs are versatile and can fill in any gaps easily and expertly!!

I have worked with Di on several occasions in the last year, both when she was hired to call with my band Ffonic, and with another band who I also play with, Sir Dancealot, both based in mid Wales. The events ranged from public ceilidhs, to birthday parties and weddings in a variety of venues from village halls to Elizabethan Manor Houses and for a range of ages from children to elderly people with differing experience and abilities. Di is reliable and professional. She turns up in good time and makes sure she meets the organisers to discuss their needs and format for the evening. She is unflappable and adaptable and copes with last minute changes with humour and understanding. She is easy to work with from the band’s perspective as well and gives clear guidance as to what she needs and when she needs it. Di has a comprehensive range of dances to suit all experiences levels and makes sure everyone enjoys themselves and has fun, which is the whole point of the evening. I can wholeheartedly recommend Di to get your dance party started and provide a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Geoff Beilby Chair of Ffonic September 6th 2023

**Long Dogs Ceilidh Band Review: An Evening to Remember at the Barn Dance** Long Dogs truly added a distinct flavour to the evening. Their energy was infectious, setting the perfect tone for a barn dance shindig. Kudos for being punctual, adaptable, and easy to work with – those qualities are gold in event planning. The musicality? Undeniable. Long Dogs Ceilidh Band knew how to keep the tunes flowing, and their choice of dances was well thought out. Their caller made it a cinch for everyone to participate, regardless of their dance floor prowess. We had all ages dancing on the floor from aged 3 to people in their 80s. The dances were all about fun and inclusion and it was a major hit with all who were there. The children loved it, and the dancing went well into the night. A hat tip to the band for their efficient setup and discreet disassembly – it kept the rhythm of the evening intact. On the budget front, I must say, Long Dogs provides quite the bang for your buck. Quality entertainment that doesn't drain your wallet – a rare find these days. To the Long Dogs Ceilidh Band, you made the barn dance an affair to remember. Looking forward to witnessing your future gigs.
