About Lonan

Intricate and heartfelt acoustic folk trio
Acoustic trio
Leeds
Public liability insurance of £1 million

Lonan are a Yorkshire-based folk trio who perform a mixture of traditional and original material. Bringing together the varied musical backgrounds of Katy Ryder (vocals, flute, whistles), Evan Davies (mandolin, vocals) and Robin Timmis (guitar, fiddle, vocals), they explore a mutual love of folk music, particularly of the British Isles. Combining English, Irish and Scottish ballads, original songs and lively instrumental tunes, Lonan offer an engaging and intimate live performance. The band is made up of accomplished musicians, who are also currently involved in groups such as The Often Herd (Winners of the European band contest – La Roche Bluegrass Festival 2018), Kibitz and Ben Somers String Band.

Lonan were brilliant and received outstanding feedback from my 90 year old mother. They Evoked lovely memories and got the family taping their toes and dancing to the final song. Would definitely recommend Lonan if you want an authentic Irish band who are excellent musicians and deliver perfect vocals

Saw Lonan at a local pub off the cuff - couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised! The three members had a great rapport (between themselves and the audience) and the singing was beautiful. The crowd couldn't get enough. Brilliant performance and thoroughly enjoyed.
