Friendly and professional, Lizzie will work with you to select the right music for your event, or you can leave the choice to her. Having graduated with a music degree from Royal Holloway, University of London, Lizzie also holds a licentiate diploma in piano performance and an associate diploma in harp performance. She has played for orchestras, chamber groups, and accompanied choirs; she also plays in a harp and organ duo with her husband. Lizzie has played for all types of events; weddings in venues from castles to stately homes, and even once on the HMS Warrior, as well as for birthdays, anniversaries, and corporate events, including a store opening for John Lewis. As well as playing venues around the UK, Lizzie has recently been living and working abroad in Hong Kong and New Zealand. She has been harpist in residence at the Shangri-La hotel on Hong Kong Island, and has given recitals in Nelson and Christchurch Cathedrals in New Zealand. Lizzie has an extensive and ever-growing repertoire, covering traditional classical, celtic folk, jazz standards, music for TV and film, and contemporary pop. Lizzie creates her own harp arrangements of pop songs, and is happy to take requests for these in advance of an event.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Past clients seem to love that I will happily create a bespoke arrangement of their favourite song for them - there is very little music that won't translate to the harp. They also seem to really enjoy the mixture of contemporary music I play (pop, film music, Disney) and guests love playing 'guess-that-tune' while I play.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Leeds Castle, Herstmonceux Castle, The HMS Warrior, Wentworth Golf Club, Surrey Golf Club, Hong Kong Cathedral, the Shangri-La Hotel Hong Kong, Nelson and Christchurch Cathedrals New Zealand.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Usually your event will be my only booking for the day, so I am very happy to adjust timings if at all possible. If you would like to change the length of time I will be playing at the event, just let me know and I can amend the quote.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually aim to arrive at least an hour before I am due to start playing, but am often earlier than that.

Is the transport of your harp included in your quote?

Yes, all costs are included. Events over 40 miles will incur a small extra travel expense, but this will be included in the quote.

Do you need any equipment provided to play outdoors?

If you would like me to play outdoors, this needs to be discussed before the booking is made. I don't usually play my full-size harp outside, unless there is full overhead protection from sunlight and sudden rain. If this is not possible, I do have a smaller, more portable harp I can bring for outdoors events, though some shade will still be required.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely! I encourage clients to choose the music for important moments, such as a wedding ceremony. However, for longer periods of time it's not necessary to make a detailed playlist - just let me know what sorts of styles you would like, and any particular favourites that you would like included, and I can take it from there.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes! I'm happy to learn up to two new pieces that aren't already on my repertoire list. If you would like more new pieces than this, just let me know, and we can discuss the small fee for this.

The standing ovation that Lizzie received at the end of the night truly reflects her talent as a musician. There were several guests moved to tears and seeing eyes light up every time there was a music change was priceless. Lizzie made a special effort to blend in with our colour scheme and looked so beautiful playing. She also learned request pieces which meant more than words can say. She was one of the most talked about parts of the day; we all loved her. Now I just need to think of another event we can hire her for!
