About Little Oak

Little Oak are a small but lively folk line-up for your event or ceilidh.
Ceilidh band
Ely
Public liability insurance of £10 million

As a new, exciting side project to compliment their work with the popular Stumpy Oak ceilidh band, Cambridgeshire residents Erin Brown & Barry Watson offer lively renditions of traditional folk music featuring vocals, fiddle, stomp box and accordion (plus occasional appearances from ;piano, whistles and bouzouki). Songs and tunes are taken from England, Ireland, Scotland and further afield, but the accompaniment is typically stompy and English, with the odd syncopated Breton rhythm thrown in for good measure.

Our line-up is usually female vocals with accordion or piano accompaniment. We do have the option of adding another male singer/guitarist.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely we can provide an iPod service before and between our sets. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free. We usually set up about 60 minutes before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Yes - we can perform acoustically around your event.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests have an amazing time. However, we're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

All our quotes include a professional, full range PA system and lighting. All items are PAT tested at 12 month intervals. We provide an electronic copy of safety/insurance documents for your venue at the time of booking.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Unfortunately we don't perform Pop/Rock covers but will certainly consider learning one or two of your favourite folk songs/tunes by special request.

Debbie, H, 1 year ago

“Barry and Erin, thank you so much for coming to play for our children during our ‘Feeling Good Week’ at nursery. The children thoroughly enjoyed the dancing and it was a great way to involve the parents. We’d love to have you back again sometime soon”.

Ceilidh-goer E, 2 years ago

“Thanks for the excellent music. I wish you could come along and play for us every week!”
