About Little Oak Ceilidh Band

Little Oak is a small but lively folk line-up for your event or ceilidh.
Ceilidh band
Public liability insurance of £10 million

As a new, exciting side project to compliment their work with the popular Stumpy Oak ceilidh band, Cambridgeshire residents Erin Brown & Barry Watson offer lively renditions of traditional folk music featuring fiddle, stomp box and accordion (plus appearances from piano, whistles, bodhran, tenor guitar and bouzouki when required). Tunes are taken from England, Ireland, Scotland and further afield, but the accompaniment is typically stompy and English, with the odd syncopated Breton rhythm thrown in for good measure. Traditional songs also a speciality! Testimonials: “Dear Barry and the band! Thank you for all your efforts making the ceilidh a success! It was everything we were hoping for and more – your choice of ‘Bonnie at Morn’ for our first dance was perfect and very special – we’ve kept listening to it since! Thank you for accommodating all the dance requests – everyone enjoyed Ninepins and the chaos of strip the willow. My favorite moment was my dad and Wenye’s mum shooting down the line in the last dance faster than anyone else! All the best – hopefully see you at a festival sometime soon.” Ben & Wenye, wedding ceilidh at Butley Priory, Suffolk (September 2023) “Thank you so much. It was a lot of fun and your band was amazing” Alfie, wedding ceilidh & DIY disco, Ashwell Herts (July 2022) “I am writing to say how much we all enjoyed your playing on Saturday night. I think it must have been fairly obvious, especially in the freestyling at the end, that we were in our element! The music was wonderful, the calling perfect and your choice of dances spot on. Fantastic, thanks to all three of you! I really hope to have the chance to dance with you again. Many, many thanks.” Lucy, graduation, birthday & anniversary party, Ashwell, Herts (July 2022)
