Lissie Daly

Elisabeth Daly is a third year trumpet player, studying with Tim Barber at the University of York. A keen orchestral player, she has performed under conductors such as Peter Stark and Ben Gernon; and has played in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall. She has also been involved with multiple European tours. Recent performances have included: a recording of Mahler Symphony 1, Shostakovich’s Symphony 10, and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. In addition to her principal study teacher, Elisabeth has studied with some of the top orchestral players in the UK: Jason Evans, David Elton, Will O’Sullivan and Murray Greig. She has also participated as a solo musician in masterclasses with Alan Thomas and Niels Tilma and as a chamber musician with Septura. During her time at the University, Elisabeth has played with the University Symphony Orchestra, University of York Brass Quintet, Jazz Orchestra, Chimera (the University contemporary music ensemble) and has helped run workshops with the Music Education Group. Alongside this, she has been involved in many musical theatre productions, including the National Youth Music Theatre production of ‘Billy the Kid’ and is a member of the function band, Brassanova. Elisabeth will be taking up a place at the Royal Northern College of music on their master’s course as of September 2019.
