I graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with my BMus (Hons) LGSMD and have been playing horn in the South East and further afield since 1997. I teach piano & brass at the Royal Grammar School (Guildford), Longacre School (Shamley Green) & Cranleigh Prep & Senior Schools as well as teaching pupils in their homes. I have a wide repertoire and am equally at home playing Lloyd Webber as I am a Mozart opera. I have most recently dropped on the UK tour of Beauty and the Beast. I have also performed as part of the orchestra for the Sound of Music in Jordan, the first musical to be performed in the country. Private Lessons I am available in the Surrey / North East Hampshire area for all beginners brass tuition, and more specifically french horn from beginners to advanced. £40 per hour / £20 per half hour I can also offer theory of music tuition and piano from beginner to advanced. You can come to my home in Aldershot, or I can come to you (within 15 miles - further distance upon request). Lisa Ridgway is my "go-to" 1st horn player, my first preference choice. Here's why: I have played as 2nd horn to Lisa for many concerts and she is reliable in both her playing and arrival to rehearsals and concerts. I always look forward to playing 2nd to her 1st, as her playing is easy to follow for the rest of the section which instils confidence. She also ensures that she has looked at the repertoire being performed before the concert day to familiarise herself with what is being played and likely to be expected from the horns.
