Lily is a flute player currently studying for an MMus at the Royal Northern College of Music while teaching and performing around Manchester

Born and brought up in the Scottish Borders, Lily began her musical life there before moving to St. Mary’s Music School, Edinburgh. She went on to study for a BA in Music at the University of Bristol, graduating with first class honours in July 2013. She is currently studying for a Master of Music (Performance) at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, where she studies flute with Laura Jellicoe and Paul Edmund-Davies and Piccolo with Rosie Lock. Lily is delighted to be supported in her postgraduate studies by the Dewar Arts Awards, The Sir James Caird Travelling Scholarship, McGlashan Charitable Trust and the RNCM's Pat Barney Bursary. During her time at the RNCM, Lily has enjoyed participating in the orchestras and ensembles of the college. Highlights include playing principal flute in the RNCM Chamber Orchestra and playing at the Wigmore Hall, London, with the RNCM New Ensemble. As well as larger ensembles, Lily enjoys playing chamber music and is currently a member of two ensembles - the Lavena Trio (Flute, Viola and Harp) and Tula Flutes (flute ensemble), who regularly perform recitals in Greater Manchester and further afield. Lily currently teaches privately in Manchester and enjoys working in an outreach capacity, bringing music to as many people as possible - she hopes to combine this with performance in her future career.
