Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I perform with a selection of accompanying musicians from duo to 6 piece band, based on your preferences & budget. Available instruments: Fiddle, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, keys, double bass, percussion, drums.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

All my bookings include a bespoke DJ playlist service throughout the event, tailored with all your song requests. Live DJ sets are also available at a special price.

How much time do you need to set up?

1-2hrs. * Generally, the earlier I can get in - the better * Timings vary based on the amount of lighting required * Setup is normally quiet, besides the last 15-30min of sound check * When meal & entertainment happen in the same hall, some venues supply a divider screen for the band to setup behind while guests are dining.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

You can select ALL your songs, and even select some songs which aren’t on my list. I love learning new songs, and ensuring your show is fully-tailored and unique to your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Indeed I do. Indeed. Remember, artists can only sound as good as the amplification they’re playing through. That's why I use PAT tested high-end amplification, as well as party, stage & mood lighting (where necessary) with a dedicated engineer, to ensure everything looks & sounds just right all throughout your event.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes. Learning new songs keeps me quick on my feet and keeps my repertoire fresh. This will normally be free of charge. * In case you have an exceptional request (i.e song in a different language or a large number of songs especially prepared) I may have to charge a bit extra.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients repeatedly mention the showmanship & crowd engagement, alongside my special attention to detail and warm & friendly approach.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Wedding venues, hotels, members clubs, sports clubs, theatres, bars, restaurants, festivals, markets, fairs.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Jewel, Alanis Morisette, Chaka Khan.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Hurlingham Club, Hospital Club, Bloomberg, KPMG, TEZENIS to name a few.

Lilac and team where absolutely excellent. They were very attentive to our needs ahead of the event and were brilliant on the day itself. The roaming mic and lead guitar really added something different - we loved it!

Dear Ceilidh With Us, we wanted to thank YOU all for a wonderful evening on Saturday! It really was a great evening - as I'm sure you realised from so many smiling faces and so many people who enjoyed the opportunity to dance. The caller sized us up very quickly and put together a great programme of dances to appeal to the more and less experienced dancers - We so appreciated your musicianship and the blend of instruments. Remko - your sound and light system created a great atmosphere, I genuinely think people would have danced all night, given half the chance! Many people have already said what fun they had and how much they enjoyed the evening. These are sobering times so thank you so much for helping us create a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere where we could celebrate birthdays and friendship. Lilac, you were so helpful from our very first conversation and made sure everything ran so smoothly. I feel sure we'll find another opportunity to book you all again. With our best wishes and grateful thanks, Deborah and Sandy

Dear Lilac & Remko, I just wanted to send a thank you to you and the band for the 2 August performance. Everyone really enjoyed the music and commented on how the country band was excellent. I appreciate your learning the songs I sent over- I think you did a brilliant job. You also did a great mix of music that went really well together, we really enjoyed dancing to it. My husband said he thought you and your band made the weekend, you were his favorite and that is saying a lot considering we had 4 performances that weekend. I hope all of you enjoyed yourselves and the BBQ food. I will definitely keep you in mind for any future events or recommendations. Many thanks and wishing you the best, Vanessa
