I have been steeped in music all my life. I started singing in a children’s choir at the age of 2 ½ and learnt the piano and violin, including through tuition with professionals. I began the cello at 6yrs old and soon after won top prizes at music festival competitions. By 11 years old, I was playing the Saints-Saens cello concerto. I have studied with several tutors who have been international cellists (soloists, chamber and orchestral players), focusing on perfecting cello technique and building a solo repertoire. I joined a performing arts college at 4 years old and over the years studied every performing arts discipline and loved it! I took classes and exams in dance (ISTD) and drama (LAMDA). I also studied musical theatre and singing there. By 7 years old, they had trained me to sing vocally demanding songs in my repertoire, for instance, Whitney Houston: ‘Greatest Love of All’; Diana Ross: ‘Theme from Mahogany (Do you know where you are going to?)’; and ‘Memory’ from the musical Cats. I starred in their bi-annual show productions in which I sang solos and developed my musicianship skills. I continue to further my dance skills by continuing to train in ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre Jazz, Contemporary and Commercial dance. I also keep building on my prior vocal learning, for instance, by training recently with a top singer, composer, choir director and vocal coach to famous pop acts. I also look at the performing arts (and visual arts) from an academic perspective. I took a specialist module (2011-12) in Aesthetics at university. I now research aesthetics (the philosophy of art, music and performance philosophy) as an independent scholar in philosophy. I also continually develop my extra skills, such as arranging music, composing and choreography. All this additional knowledge extends my abilities to being a very rare, quintuple-threat performer.
