Lewis is a recent graduate from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he obtained a first-class Bachelor of Music (Hons) degree studying classical piano under the tutelage of Caroline Palmer. Lewis previously studied at the Royal Academy of Music's Junior Department under the tutelage of Eleanor Hodgkinson and at Stowe School as a music scholar. Lewis has been fortunate enough to have performed in such venues as St John's Smith Square and Steinway Hall and has benefited from masterclasses whilst studying with renowned pianists including Lang Lang, Murray McLachlan, Joanna MacGregor, Philip Fowke and Paul Roberts. As a dedicated collaborative pianist and song accompanist, in addition to his solo work, Lewis has worked with a variety of ensembles and soloists on various projects and has received tuition and guidance from the Gould Piano Trio, the Endellion Quartet, Carole Presland, Julius Drake and Samantha Malk. Lewis is a member of The De Kooning Ensemble, winners of the Guildhall School’s Ivan Sutton Prize 2021. Lewis is a highly experienced musical director and vocal coach. He has worked on many musical theatre productions around the UK and, up until recently, was the Musical Director at Vivo D'Arte's School of Theatre Arts. His theatre credits include: Between (GSMD), The Addams Family (Vivo D'Arte), Timpson the Musical (UK Tour), Queen of the Mist (dep – Charing Cross Theatre), Henrietta (NYMT Workshop), GROWL (NYMT), Merrily We Roll Along (GSMD), Tess of the D'Urbervilles (BYMT), Loserville (Stafford Gatehouse), Tinseltown (LGMC), Into the Woods, Les Misérables, Little Shop of Horrors (all Arts at Stowe). Lewis is delighted to be furthering his studies at the Royal Academy of Music on the MA in Musical Direction and Coaching course from September 2021, supported by Help Musicians.
