Lesley Locke is a talented Classical Crossover artist hailing from Ireland. With a versatile musical repertoire that spans classical, jazz, country, rock, and various folk traditions, Lesley captivates audiences of all ages and nationalities. Her rich and diverse sound has made her a sought-after performer, known for her ability to connect with listeners through a wide range of musical styles. Born in Ireland, Lesley developed a passion for music at an early age. She pursued her studies at Trinity College of Music in London, where she earned several prestigious qualifications, including GTCL, LTCL(GMT), LTCL(PERF), and ATCL. Additionally, she attended Queen’s University, Belfast, where she obtained her HND and BA (Hons) in Drama and Theatre Studies. This solid educational foundation laid the groundwork for her illustrious career in music and performance. Lesley’s professional journey began in 1990 and spanned nearly three decades, primarily in Belfast and London. As a freelance musician, she had the honor of leading the Northern Ireland Symphony Orchestra and performing with Opera Ireland. Her impressive credentials include collaborations with the Irish Film Orchestra and Castleward Opera. She gained recognition as a session musician, contributing to numerous television shows and recordings, working with acclaimed artists such as Celtic Women, Van Morrison, and Vanessa Mae, even performing live on BBC. In addition to her work with established acts, Lesley was the leader of the Dennison String Quartet and played with the band Blue Jar, with whom she toured Denmark and released two albums. Her performances extended to prestigious events, including the Marbella Film Festival in Spain and the MEI Festival in Italy. Lesley also dedicated a portion of her career to teaching, sharing her love for music with students through the Education Boards. In 2008, Lesley relocated to Paphos, Cyprus, where she found new opportunities to showcase her talents. Over the next 15 years, she played six nights a week, establishing residencies at notable hotels and restaurants, including the Columbia and Constantinou Hotels, Elysium, and Anassos. Her performances at various festivals and arts events further solidified her reputation as a premier artist in the region. Notably, she performed for the Irish Embassy and took part in short cruises for Louis Cruises, enchanting guests with her musical versatility. Throughout this period, Lesley performed at over 600 weddings, bringing joy to countless couples on their special days. In the summer of 2023, Lesley made another significant move, this time to Lapta, Kyrenia. Embracing her new surroundings, she continued her solo work while also collaborating with The Reel Irish Band, performing in various venues across Cyprus. Their collective efforts led to the release of two singles, and they are currently in the process of recording an album, showcasing her commitment to evolving as an artist. Lesley has also made her mark in the local media, performing live on BRT radio, further extending her reach and influence. Lesley Locke’s journey is one of passion, dedication, and resilience. She embodies the spirit of a true artist, continually seeking to inspire and connect with audiences through her music.

I’m really gutted to have to write this the music itself was good she’s a brilliant violinist the communication was shocking and even on the day she never spoke to me or the groom once, she arrived at the venue without knowing where to go then wasn’t happy when it was in 2 different places the ceremony room and the drinks room if she had communicated with me she would of known this, I don’t often write reviews but I didn’t feel like this was a positive experience

Lesley was wonderful. Such a talented Violinist. No fuss, turned up early and set everything up very efficiently. The sounds quality was amazing. It was a surprise for my grandparents and they loved it. She played their song for them, and my grandmother nearly missed it! When she arrived back Lesley kindly played it for them again so they could dance to it. It was a beautiful moment. There was 11 of for the private dinner party. Every guest said that Lesley made the evening. I would highly recommend and would book again in a heart beat!

Thanks again for performing on Friday evening. Everyone who I spoke to commented on how much your music contributed the wonderful atmosphere and they thoroughly enjoyed listening to you play. It was a hugely successful event, and I will look to book you again for future events. Please see some feedback from one of the attendees: ‘We were delighted as Friends of the Auckland Project to be invited to the event last Friday. It was a wonderful evening: we enjoyed the canapés and drinks, the violinist playing and speaking to fellow Friends’

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

As I have lived in quite a few countries, my set appeals to all ages and cultures. Being Irish a surprise the audience with some trad folk tunes, mixed with my love for Classic Rock, I appeal to a very wide audience.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Toured Denmark with Peter Gabriel. Recorded in Ringsend Studio with the Irish Film Orchestra, Hayley Westenra and Van Morrison I have played in the Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Ulster Hall, King's Hall, Irish Concert Hall, the Point, Notre Dam, Palace of Versailles. Hotels in Cyprus, TRNC, Spain, Lanzarote, Canaries, Ireland

Do you have different line-up options?

I can do a fully instrumental set with backing tracks, a fully vocal set or a mixture for most variety.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I am usually very flexible! But at the height of wedding season, I'm very busy.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually arrive 45 mins early to set up, but I really only need 10 mins, which is perfect if there is a change of venue mid-wedding.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My set list is created through years of performing. I have learnt what works best for all ages and nationalites. But I'm happy to chat about what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

I bring all the equipment required to perform to up to 100 guests.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

I can learn up to 3 pieces for your event for free. These are usually entrance, signing, and first dance.
