Lawrence is a Baritone, currently studying with Mark Wildman at the Royal Academy of Music and is embarking on his 4th year on the BMus Undergraduate course. He is the grateful holder of the 2015 Arthur Burcher Memorial Prize and Tony Fell Award. Since arriving at the Academy in September 2012, Lawrence has performed in a number of internal Recitals of Song in English, French and German, including a complete performance of Schumann's Dichterliebe. Lawrence is part of the Kohn Foundation Bach Cantata Series that performs regularly to sell out audiences in the Dukes Hall. Lawrence had the special privilege of working with world renowned Bach musician Masaaki Suzuki on one of these projects. Lawrence has worked with a wide range of singers and coaches such as Russell Smythe, Richard Jackson, Gareth Hancock, Ian Partridge, Philip Dougan and most recently, Sarah Walker CBE, as part of the Oxford Lieder festival. Recent operatic experience includes summer workshops and performances in France (August 2013 with Mary Hill), Italy (July 2014/2015 with Iain Ledingham) and British Youth Opera (August 2014/15). Lawrence is involved in Performances of Oratorio works throughout the year, starting with Faure and Durufle Requiems this November, up until performances of both of Bach’s Passions in April 2016. In his early formative years, Lawrence was trained as a chorister at Christchurch Cathedral, Oxford and St George’s Chapel, Windsor, where he got the opportunity to perform at venues such as the Barbican and Birmingham Symphony Hall and toured to Oslo And New York with the choir. His formative years as a Baritone were during his time as a Music Scholar at Radley College, where he performed as a soloist in the UK and abroad (Barcelona, Paris and Tallinn). Lawrence was a soloist in large scale performances Bach St John's Passion and Faure Requiem with Orchestra amongst other concerts.
