The Jazz Duo

The Jazz Duo are Laura Wyatt and Darrel Mayhead. Both virtuoso musicians in their own right, together they are something really spectacular. Laura's tone and vocal agility have been honed through years of singing jazz standards, influenced by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington. Laura sings in The Jazz Duo alongside a successful career as an acoustic pop musician and wedding DJ. Jazz is where it all began for Laura, and she is never happier than when she is singing standards. Darrel has a BA(hons) in Popular Music, majoring in Jazz, and his style is influenced by legendary jazz guitarists such as Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery. He is a well-established guitar and music theory teacher, and he has over a decade of experience as a professional musician, as an accompanist, as a guitarist for weddings and events, and as a guitarist in touring bands. The Jazz Duo are the perfect accompaniment to a drinks reception or dinner. The pair are equally at home in a fine dining restaurant, in a cute little cafè or in the grounds of a stunning wedding venue. Wherever they play, their charming and relaxing music creates an atmosphere of sophistication and romance.
