Laura Takala

I started singing and performing when I was 14 and have not looked back since. Whether it's a stage, a studio, a busking performance, and whether there are 1000 or 10 people in the audience, you can count on me to give it my all. My love for music has taken me to many new places - such as Glasgow, my hometown of 5 years. I moved here from Finland to become part of the thriving independent music scene. Since then I have released and performed original music with my band Lo Rays. To take my skills further, I completed studies in music at the University of the West of Scotland, from which I graduated with 1st class Honours. I used to perform cover sets at cafes, pubs and graduation parties back in Finland before moving to Scotland. While living here I have concentrated on my original music and studies, but since graduating I want to get back at it and provide great entertainment and ambience to parties - and do what I enjoy the most: singing. Alongside gigging with my original band Lo Rays, I also write and produce all our music. We have received support from BBC Radio Scotland and our latest single was played on Radio 1, which was our biggest achievement so far!
