Laura started piano at the age of 4, learning by the Suzuki method. Aged 8 she won a scholarship to study as a DFES specialist musician at Wells Cathedral School in Somerset, where she was taught by Hilary Coates and later John Byrne. She had numerous successes while at school, including winning the EPTA national piano competition and, in 2006 reached the regional finals of the BBC's Young Musician of the Year competition. Laura also received Associated Board awards in her grade 8 exams for both Piano and Cello for, respectively, outstanding high marks and for the highest mark in the country. While at school, Laura also attended Pro Corda courses in Suffolk, from which she developed her love of chamber music. This culminated in Laura's piano trio representing the Pro Corda course at the 2004 Genius of the Violin festival at St John Smith's Square in London. On leaving school, Laura initially took a place to study the Cello at the Royal Academy of Music but in 2009 developed a shoulder injury which prevented her continuing as a cellist. Laura returned to the Piano and transferred to Trinity College of Music where she finished undergraduate studies in June 2012. Laura has international experience in performing and teaching. International performances include "The Listeners Club" at the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation in Mumbai, India, where she was teacher in residence in the summer of 2012.
