Lars Fischer

Swiss tenor Lars Fischer grew up in Switzerland and Sweden. He has recently finished his MMus with Distinction at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where he was a Crompton Scholar, and continues to study with Sophie Grimmer. Most recently, Lars sang the roles of Gronw in Her Face was of Flowers (E. Jones) at Tête-à-tête Opera Festival, Achilles in La Belle Hélène (J. Offenbach) with Blackheath Halls Opera, King of the West and Sun in The Enchanted Pig (J. Dove) with Hampstead Garden Opera (directed by Laura Attridge), King Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors (G. C. Menotti), Lucano in L’Incoronazione di Poppea (C. Monteverdi) with Trinity Laban Opera and Monostatos in The Magic Flute (W.A. Mozart). In June 2016, he created the role of Tommy in the world premiere of Stephen McNeff’s opera Banished under Jessica Cottis and Elaine Kidd. Lars has previously assisted director Chris Lane for Trinity’s postgraduate opera scenes and made his full-scale production debut as AD for The Rape of Lucretia with Trinity Laban Opera under Laura Attridge.
