Kristian Thorkildsen

Kristian is tremendously reliable and his communication is great, he has consistently aced the challenges he’s been set and is always ready to take on additional work. His repertoire knowledge is outstanding and his singing voice is beautifully mellow and rich. Look no further if you are searching for a top notch tenor, I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Kristian Thorkildsen has been a student of mine for the last two years, both in one to one singing lessons and as a member of the University Chamber Choir and our smaller vocal ensemble, the Otter Consort. Kristian has a mellifluous sweet toned tenor voice, which he uses musically and expressively. He is a loyal member of our vocal ensembles, and shows leadership, and admirably is always ready to give encouragement and confidence to younger students in the tenor section. Last summer he sang the tenor solos in a University performance under my direction with our Baroque Orchestra in a performance of Handel Acis and Galatea, to great critical acclaim. He also sang some solos for me in a public performance with the East Sussex Bach Choir in Lewes, and here he performed with great assurance and innate musicality. I have invited Kristian to sing the tenor solos from Handel’s Messiah with Eastbourne Choral Society later this month. All these performing opportunities are giving him invaluable concert experience.
