Based in Bristol and working with various artists, my repertoire and musical identity has focused on Funk, Jazz and Pop music

I've been playing drums for what feels like my whole life and must have started when I was 8 years of age. I developed a bond with music whilst watching my own father play drums on stage. and decided that, that was what I wanted to do as it looked really cool! After deciding guitar was not my thing, mostly because I got kicked out, I decided to take up some drum lessons from my dad who gave me a couple of lessons, giving me some basic knowledge on how to hold the sticks, tempos, rudiments etc. Fast forward a couple years in secondary school when I was in the school's 'Rock Orchestra' playing in their end of school summer concert, it was the first time I had the chance to actually play in front of a large group of people I didn't know or recognise. The song was Deep Purple's, Smoke on the Water and I had practised this song for hours in the school rehearsal room readying myself for the moment I got to have a slice of that dream! The moment came and went in a flash, and I was hooked on performing. After finishing school and passing my music GCSE with flying colours and knowing exactly that music was the path I wanted to take I decided that music college was my next stop. After looking around and a couple of rejections, I landed myself a place at Bath College, in the heart of Bath town centre for three years. This had to be the first time I surrounded myself with actual musicians and other people of the same interest. Thankfully I made friends pretty quick with some metallers and started writing original music for the first time ever, and got playing a couple of shows that the college had put on for us, as well as weekly performance workshops that would help us improve and get rid of those performing nerves. The three years went and gone and I found myself in a new position - I wasn't that into metal music anymore, and felt myself wanting more from music. I also found myself in a new environment - BIMM Bristol. I made a couple of friends here that I would take with me into my new professional career and I had a superb time at BIMM and really managed to push myself in musical directions I'd never thought of. Throughout my time here I started an interest in Jazz music and somehow landed myself my first Jazz gig. This gave me a new musical sensation and was exactly what I was looking for from music. It was the first time I had entered this euphoric state where nothing mattered except the musician's in the band and the music we played, and I wanted more of it. Sadly however it all fell apart due to reasons beyond my control and I have found myself working harder than ever on my ability and musicality on the drum set. I feel a different drive than when I first started out, when I started I wanted to perform for people and share my musical voice. Now I'm finding myself wanting to push myself as far as I can to see how far I can go musically.
