Kirsty is a young British soprano currently studying for her Masters degree with Elizabeth Ritchie and Iain Ledingham at the Royal Academy of Music. Raised in Leicestershire, Kirsty completed her bachelor degree with first-class honours at the London College of Music in 2013 where she also won first prize in the John Ireland Competition and Michael James Prizes. She is grateful for the support of John Sullivan, the William Barry Trust, Rosy Crehan Award and John Ireland Trust.
Her operatic roles include Mimi (Puccini La Bohème), Gilda (Verdi Rigoletto) for the Stanley Opera Company, Suor Osmina (Puccini Suor Angelica) for Royal Academy Opera, Elvira (Rossini L’Italiana in Algeri), 1st Lady (Mozart Die Zauberflöte) 1st Niece (Britten Peter Grimes), Donna Anna/Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni Mozart), Alice (Falstaff Verdi) and Elisabetta (Maria Stuarda) in opera scenes at the Royal Academy of Music. Kirsty is excited to be singing the role of Nella in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi with Westminster Opera this summer in Port d'Envaux, France.
Kirsty performs regularly throughout London and the Midlands. She recently gave short recitals at the Garrick Club, Mansion House, Painter’s Hall and Fishmonger’s Hall in London. In July 2013, she presented an evening of opera and song at the new St. James Theatre, Victoria. She often returns to the midlands to give song recitals at local churches and theatres including the Belgrade, Coventry.
Before moving to London, Kirsty won national singing competition Open Mic UK. This led to performances at The 02 Arena, Greenwich; Symphony Hall, Birmingham and the Buxton Opera House. She has released two albums “Introducing” and “Echoes” tracks from which have achieved top positions in international charts. She has also performed for 24,000 football fans at the King Power Stadium in her home city of Leicester.
