About Kirsten

Versatile solo cellist for events, concerts and recordings in Wales and around the UK.
Cellist
Cardiff
Public liability insurance of £10 million

I have loved playing music all my life, and it is a joy to share this with others as my profession. I was trained as a classical cellist at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Since graduating I have enjoyed playing with orchestras, in chamber groups, with bands, for recordings, at festivals, for musicals, at weddings, and at corporate events. Some of my best musical experiences include a concert in the Cadogan hall, performing at the Green Man Festival as the sun set, and playing with Nicola Benedetti. For weddings and events: I can play music of various genres. You might want all classical music, to give a sophisticated mood, or perhaps you'd prefer a mix of pop, musicals and film music. I can also play celidh-style trad folk tunes. Solo cello sounds beautiful on it's own, giving a romantic feel. I can also offer some tunes with a backing track, if you'd prefer. I am happy to make suggestions to help you choose the music you'd like, and I also take requests so whatever that special song or piece of music is, let me know and I can arrange it for you. For recordings: I have worked with various artists and composers and have a lot of experience with recording. I am very confident reading from a score, and I am also highly skilled at harmonising/improvising a cello part by ear if required. I also have skills in arranging and composing.

Kirsten playing me down the aisle was the most special start possible to our wedding service. It created a gorgeous atmosphere with our chosen music, and timed perfectly with mine and my bridesmaids entrances, which we had been able to discuss beforehand. She is so professional, polished and poised. I would highly highly recommend Kirsten for your wedding or event.
