Kirsten Miller: Cello

Hello! I'm Kirsten and I live in South Wales, with a second base in Northamptonshire. I have loved playing music all my life, and it is a joy to share this with others, and particularly at weddings and other special events. I was trained as a classical cellist at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Since graduating I have enjoyed playing with orchestras, in chamber groups, with bands, for recordings, at festivals, for musicals, and at weddings. For weddings: I will work with you to make your wedding as special as it can be. I can play music of various genres. You might want all classical music, to give a sophisticated mood, or perhaps you'd prefer a mix of classical, and pop, or some film or musicals tunes. I can also play celidh-style folk tunes, if you want to capture more of a rustic feel. Tell me your thoughts about the music and I'll happily help you make your choices. Solo cello sounds beautiful on it's own, no backing tracks, just the pure romantic sound of the instrument. If you are looking for a fuller musical backdrop, I can also offer cello and piano, or cello and guitar for a higher quote. I am happy to make suggestions to help you choose the music you'd like, and I also take requests for a ceremony piece of music, if you want something that isn't already on my music list. For recordings: I have worked with various artists and composers and have a lot of experience with recording. I am very confident reading from a score, and I am also highly skilled at harmonising/improvising a cello part by ear if required. I also have skills in arranging and composing.
