Kid At The Back formed in early 2003 in Hertfordshire as an original band. After meeting in 2002, Zac (vocals, guitar) and Matt (drums) spent six months writing and recording music before working with various Bass players to produce the distinctive Kid At The Back sound. 3 years was then spent gigging around the country where they shared the stage with such acts as Enter Shikari, The Subways and Fun Loving Criminals. Kid At The Back music was also heard worldwide with repeated airtime on British Forces Radio, Pirate FM and Absolute Radio and also provided the soundtrack for surfers and skaters on Channel Four’s Extreme Sports Show. Further success came after winning the UK Emergenza music festival in 2006 which in turn saw them whisked to perform at Germany’s Glastonbury equivalent, The Taubertal Festival. This led to further tours of the UK and the band recording debut single ‘Slide Away‘ in 2008. This success was marred in 2009 when the band were forced to split due to unforeseen circumstances but in 2011 The band reformed with the help of new Bass Player, Jim Harrison. Now in their thirties (their prime!!) the band have decided to take a different direction and are reaching a larger audience by playing a predominately Covers based set. This has meant bookings in many venues that would not have booked the band previously. This new approach has been a roaring success. The band now pride themselves as being one of the greatest covers acts in the UK whilst continuing to promote their original music as KATB
