Are you looking for a truly unique and unforgettable musical experience? Look no further! I'm Katie Tertell, an award-winning American cellist, and I'm passionate about sharing the beauty and power of music in a way that resonates with modern audiences. I'm not just a performer; I'm an artistic curator, crafting experiences that connect people through meaningful encounters with music. When you book me for your event, you're not just hiring a cellist; you're inviting a passionate artist dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience. Whether it's a wedding, a corporate event, a private party, or a community gathering, I will work with you to tailor my performance to your needs. I'm confident that my artistry, professionalism, and commitment to excellence will make your event truly special. Let's create some musical magic together! My journey with the cello began at a young age. I was captivated by its rich, expressive voice, its ability to convey a spectrum of emotions. Music became my calling. I pursued my musical studies rigorously, honing my technique and deepening my understanding of the cello repertoire. This dedication led me to many opportunities, including a position with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. This experience provided invaluable training and allowed me to collaborate with world-class musicians, refining my artistry. My passion extends beyond traditional concert halls. I believe that music should be accessible to everyone, and I'm committed to breaking down barriers and creating innovative ways for people to engage with this art form. I founded and serve as Artistic Director of the Appalachian Chamber Music Festival, headquartered in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. This festival explores the intersection of music, community, and the beauty of the Appalachian region. It's a testament to my belief in music's power to connect us. My performing highlights are diverse. From solo recitals to intimate chamber music performances, I bring passion and commitment to every project. I've collaborated with internationally celebrated ensembles, performing in prestigious venues across the UK, Europe, and America. These experiences have enriched my musical understanding and broadened my artistic horizons. What sets my performances apart is my dedication to creating a connection with my audience. I don't just play the notes; I tell a story. I strive to communicate the emotional core of the music, inviting listeners on a journey of discovery. Whether performing a beloved classic or exploring a contemporary work, I aim to create an experience that is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally resonant. I'm also passionate about working cross-disciplinarily, collaborating with artists from other fields. I believe music can be a powerful force, and I'm always looking for new ways to use my artistry to connect with diverse audiences. This might involve incorporating visual arts, dance, or even spoken word, pushing the boundaries of what a classical music concert can be.

Today's concert was delightful and the Schumann was downright phenomenal. The energy, the synergy, the exuberance, the communication, the musicality - not to mention accuracy! The ensemble quality was simply amazing; your music was so beautiful I almost cried. I've never seen my husband smile so much during a concert - he loved it as much as I did. Thank you!
