About Kate

A classic jazz singer, Kate sings everything from hot gypsy jazz to sophisticated swinging Peggy Lee - background or performance.
jazz vocals

I have been singing professionally since I first sang "I'll Make a Man of You" in a repertory production of 'Oh! What a Lovely War'. That was many years ago. Since then I have sung pretty much every style of music and in many combinations from a 5-part harmony all-female group to a solo with piano or guitar; weddings and functions singing r and b and music for dancing, to low-key background jazz. I have a huge repertoire and can accommodate most musical tastes from the 1920's up to the 1960's! Jazz has developed as a serious favourite. In 2014 I released my second CD Atmospherics which we toured around the country. This was well-reviewed and we are about to release another album in April 2017. I am fortunate to work with some wonderful and distinguished musicians.

I've played soloist/sideman with Kate on many occasion. A cool singer with her own style, a great communicator always with a story to tell.
