Kat is a Brighton based soprano and director who will begin studying under Xenia Mejer at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in September.

Kat currently directs the Saint Pancras Schola choir in Lewes and performs around the Sussex area. She has had the privilege of being coached by Neil Jenkins, Dame Felicity Lott, Deborah Roberts (The Tallis Scholars), Mercedes Hernandez and Fernando Reyes Ferron (Resonet), David Wilson-Johnson, Chris Bucknell and William Carslake. She has also been conducted by Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Dudamel and Howard Goodall. Kat has sung the roles of First Boy; Mozart: Magic Flute (Jackdaws and Ardingly International Music School- AIMS), Madame Silverpeal; Mozart: The Impresario (AIMS), Soer Constance; Poulenc: Dialogue of the Carmelites (AIMS); Belinda, Purcell: Dido and Aeneas, (Brighton Early Music Festival- BREMF), First Witch/Second Woman (Triora Musica Summer School in Italy), and Spirit (Burgess Hill Choral Society). She also recently performed in several performances of Francesca Caccini’s La Liberazione di Ruggiero Dall'Isola d’Alcina (BREMF). Oratorio performances include the Pie Jesu from Faure’s Requiem with the Brighton Festival Chorus and London Gala Orchestra, solos from Scarlatti’s St Cecilia Mass and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and solos from Bach’s Mass in B Minor. In 2013, Kat sang Britten’s Abraham and Isaac, A Ceremony of Carols and Rejoice in the Lamb with Neil Jenkins and The Sussex Chorus and solos from Vivaldi’s Gloria with Gravesham Choral Society. She has also sung solos form Britten’s Spring Symphony and Handel’s Brockes Passion at AIMS. She recently sang the Cozzelani Vespers in BREMF, to be broadcast on BBC Radio 3, and will be singing in a Music of our Time (MOOT) concert celebrating the life of Milton Babbit, also to be broadcast on radio 3. In 2015 she also sang in a concert of music by Hildegard von Bingen with The Telling. She is also a keen choral singer, having previously been a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and sings regularly with BREMF Consort of Voices, the Baroque Collective Singers, The Lewes singers, and Celestial Sirens. She was also the recipient of the Springboard Festival’s Madame Mimi Scharrer cup and has been awarded a bursary to AIMS Summer school for the last 3 years, as well as winning a free place at Benslow Music for their Purcell course in 2015. Kat’s recent solo performances include a performance with Deborah Roberts and John Hancorn of Couperin’s Lecons des Tenebres, a recital with baritone Andrew Robinson and in a concert with Resonet at the Cathedral of Santiago di Compostella. She recently sand Allegri’s Miserere and Couperin’s Lecons des Tenbres with Brighton Chamber Choir, and performed in a concert on modes with the BREMF Community Choir. Kat will soon be performing the roles of First Witch and Second Woman/Spirit in Woodhouse Opera’s Young Artist development programme, and her upcoming concerts include a concert with the Shoreham Oratorio choir, a staged performance of Monteverdi’s l’Orfeo, and various performances at the 2016 AIMS Music School. She will also soon be recording an upcoming CD of newly discovered music with early music group Musica Secreta.
