Our 4-piece line-up is comprised of female vocals, bass, guitar and drums and we have decades of combined experience under our belts. Our members honed their craft in touring bands playing to music lovers worldwide, and then over the past ten years we have played at countless weddings and event throughout the UK and abroad. We specialise in Motown, Pop, and Party Music with a repertoire featuring a broad range of classic songs that bring the shyest of music lovers to their dancing feet! Fronted by the sensational Laura Wyatt, Jupiter Ray really are the party band to book. The setlist is full of absolute party must-haves, from Motown classics to a few carefully selected modern chart hits. Think Michael Jackson, Chaka Kahn, Bruno Mars, The Temptations, Beyonce... Jupiter Ray supply a professional sound system appropriate for the size of your venue, basic party lighting, and a complimentary DJ service until midnight. Jupiter Ray played at my daughters wedding on Thursday and were amazing, everyone was up on the dance floor as soon as they started and they continued to entertain us through the evening. They played 2 live sets with a DJ set in the middle. A perfect finish to a perfect day. 💕

Customer questions

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

We strive to make sure the vocalist you see is what you get on the night. We do have 'dep' musicians available in case a band member falls ill or becomes unavailable. As a professional band, our reputation means everything so you can be confident that all of our players are of a very high level.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our lineup is as follows: Vocals, Bass, Guitar, Drums

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we offer a complimentary DJ service between our sets and until midnight.

How much time do you need to set up?

It usually takes around an hour - 90mins to set up for the full band and sound check. We aim to be set up and sound checked before your evening guests get there so that we can have some background music playing to set the atmosphere as people start to arrive.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

The short answer is no. Occasionally we add new songs to keep things fresh, but our setlist essentially stays the same from gig to gig. This ensures that our show is well-rehearsed and we can give an exceptional performance night after night. The songs we play are based on our experience of what works best to get people dancing.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

PA and a basic party lighting set-up are included in your quote.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We are happy to learn a first dance song for a wedding as long as we are given 2 months notice. The additional fee for learning a new song is £200 to cover rehearsal expenses. If you would like a solo acoustic first dance, the fee is £50.
