Based in Leicestershire, the Junction 21 Big Band are a full sized traditional line up swing band (4 trumpets, 4 trombones, 5+ saxophones, full rhythm section, and singers too) with both a swing era and more modern, eclectic music mix. We love to play and perform at all sorts of events, and love it best when, invariably, the crowd dance along with us.

Junction 21 a night of big band brilliance. From the moment the brass section belted out the opening note it was evident that Junction 21 was set to be a night to remember. The Clubhouse was transformed into a haven for Jazz enthusiasts, with the air thick with anticipation and excitement. Throughout the night, the band showcased their versatility, seamlessly transitioning from up-tempo swing numbers to soulful ballads. Each musician had their moment in the spotlight, demonstrating remarkable skill and passion for their craft. From booking to the finale the band was fantastic, hence we booked them straight away for the next event.

Shared ticketed event10 musicians

For a shared event, where tickets are sold upfront and on the door, we will charge a minimum of £625, plus share the proceeds of the ticket sales 50/50. This really helps to save on the upfront costs and to reduce the risk for the event organiser.

A standard fee for a standard afternoon / evening concert, lasting perhaps 2-3 hours.

Where the band is required to set up early in advance of the guests arriving, eg to protect the ambience of a party or function, a slightly higher fee is charged. Exact details of fees can be discussed.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

We're a big band with a big band sound, but with a more modern and flexible repertoire, and our engagement with the audience. Invariably the audience likes to dance.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

We mainly play private gigs, so function rooms, hotels, etc, but also parks, bandstands, village halls etc

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

With over 20 members, it's pretty fair to say, nearly all of them!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

We don't really play high-profile gigs. We're comfortable with most settings.

Do you have different line-up options?

No, we are a big band lineup, and whilst there may be minor changes on the night, it'll generally be 6 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, drums, bass, keys, guitar, and male and female vocals

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We will of course do our best to accommodate you wherever possible, You will appreciate there are over 20 people in a big band so date changes are very difficult. But minor timing changes are easier.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We do not provide a DJ but are able to pipe some background music through our PA before/in between/for a short period after our sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

2-3 hours is required for setting up. We break down much more quickly, within 30-45 minutes usually.

Can you roam around while you perform?

No.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

You can discuss anything with us several weeks beforehand in preparation for the event, and we have an extensive library - we will accommodate if possible. It won't be possible to make changes to our plans on the night.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

All of our equipment, PA, lights etc. is included in our quote.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

You can discuss anything with us several weeks beforehand in preparation for the event, and we have an extensive library - we will accommodate if possible.
