About Julia Seibert

A string quartet in miniature. 10+ years’ experience giving events an elegant touch with six strings.
Guitarist
London
Public liability insurance of £10 million

I am a London-based classical guitarist bringing the elegance and richness of a string quartet into the intimacy of a single instrument. With over a decade of professional experience across the UK and internationally, I provide refined, atmospheric music for weddings, private celebrations and luxury events. My playing enhances the room without overpowering conversation, creating a sophisticated backdrop for drinks receptions, dinners and evening gatherings. Trained in Berlin and London, I completed my Master’s degree with Distinction at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. My performances have included venues such as Wigmore Hall and the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College. I’ve been fortunate to receive recognition such as the Beatty Competition prize for Best Interpretation in Washington, D.C., the Montagu Cleeve Prize for Guitar, and the medal for highest achievement in my department at graduation. My repertoire spans Baroque and Romantic favourites (including Bach, Handel, Vivaldi and Chopin) alongside elegant Spanish works and tasteful modern arrangements. I also create my own orchestral transcriptions for guitar, offering something distinctive and memorable for each occasion. Whether you are seeking subtle background music or a carefully shaped musical moment, I tailor the programme to suit the tone and setting of your event.

Julia is an extraordinarily talented musician who really made our wedding so beautifully special. Our guests were blown away by her and we cannot have imagined our day without her. A true professional, very timely, intuitive to our event needs and very collaborative with other performers and suppliers. I highly recommend Julia for any event.

We were all so very delighted to have Julia play at my party on Saturday evening. All our friends were very impressed with Julia's talent! And her selection of music was perfect! It was all so very special and a wonderfully memorable evening! Days later - I'm still getting compliments.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients often say my guitar feels like a string quartet in miniature: intimate, warm, and expressive.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I’ve performed at venues including Wigmore Hall, the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, Lighthouse Poole, and Blackheath Halls. I’ve also played internationally in the United States, Turkey, Germany, and Portugal, both in concert settings and at private events and weddings.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

My biggest influences have been my teachers: Graham Devine, Piotr Pakhomkin, Eugenia Kanthou, and Arash Ahmadi. Each helped me discover a different side of the guitar: not just technique, but the never-ending possibilities that exist beyond its six strings. And it all started with my dad, who first put a guitar in my hands.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

One of my most high-profile performances was the Luthiers’ Demonstration Concert at the Royal Greenwich Guitar Festival, where I was invited to showcase instruments by leading guitar makers.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Weddings and events rarely run exactly to schedule, but that’s no problem! I’m used to adapting. If things shift a little on the day, I’ll adjust so the music still fits seamlessly. For bigger changes to the plan, just let me know in advance and I’ll work with you to make it run smoothly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

I don’t offer a DJ service, but I can usually perform with minimal or no breaks to keep the music flowing throughout if needed.

How much time do you need to set up?

I usually need around an hour to set up and soundcheck, sometimes a little longer depending on the space. This ensures everything is in place and the sound is balanced, so the music can flow seamlessly once your guests arrive.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Absolutely! I’ll share my repertoire list with you in advance, and you’re welcome to choose any favourites for your event. Most clients prefer to highlight a few must-have pieces and then leave me to shape the rest of the programme to suit the atmosphere on the day.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes! I provide everything needed for my performance, including my guitar and amplification (if required). All I need from the venue is a standard power source, a chair without arms, and an appropriate space to set up.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes! I’m happy to prepare special requests to make your event personal and memorable. I already have a wide repertoire, but if there’s a particular piece that isn’t on my list, I can usually arrange and learn it for you. I include one or two bespoke requests in my standard packages, and I’m glad to discuss additional pieces if you’d like more.
