Hi! I have heaps of experience as a singer working in pubs, clubs, wine bars, restaurants, at private parties and functions, as a wedding singer (during the service, during the meal and at the party afterwards) and for corporate and fundraising events. Parties, special occasions Christmas and New Year’s Eve gigs are my specialty! The last few years have also seen me sing at Street Parties with the Vintage and Retro sets, at Sheltered Housing Parties and at memorial services. Localised Music Festivals and Town Centres have also booked my wide ranging repertoire to entertain the general public for promotions....and I started doing Voiceovers...it’s all in a days work! I get alot of repeat business from happy venues. I work in Essex, London and any part of the Eastern Region by arrangement, and can also provide a package where I supply a DJ or playlist for breaks before and after the gig with the/Live Music combination. Just contact me with your requirements and budget and we can work the rest out! I love so many styles of music that I work across a diverse range of genres, from pop, soul, blues, jazz, funk, rock and reggae in my solo act and pop duo, and in Jazz/Funk/Soul line-ups. This works well for clubs who don’t just want a single style of music all night (great to advertise a theme night but gets a bit repetitive to listen to!) This wide range is also ideal for parties where ages and tastes of party goers varies! I have a massive repertoire, always updating it, see the song list below divided into sections/styles! Regular venue bookings will never see the same gig twice! In fact there are enough songs to do dedicated 70’s, 80’s or 90’s shorter sets for school reunions. I have popular ‘Jazz-Lite and ‘Smooth Groove’ sets as background music in restaurants or at functions, and perform in live 5 piece Jazz bands at clubs and other venues, and have a duo separately with male guitar and vocals for added variety in the set. If you have a special song request for weddings, birthdays or anniversaries etc…then contact me as if I don’t already have it in my set I can usually source it for you! I have loads of song clips available for you to hear. Do feel free to call me and discuss any queries you have I look forward to hearing from you! Jxx

Julia is a very versatile singer who performed in our club recently for the first time and was well received. Members got up and danced from the first song which doesn’t happen usually. We will be booking Julia again.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients love my versatility and often compliment my song choices. I'm part singer, part DJ! I often get complimented on my actual voice , how I can sing so many styles ...I just LOVE to Sing, I'm taken over by the music, and it comes out in my performance...people can feel the love! I like a giggle with the audience too, interaction!! See my reviews!

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Gosh tiny places (Peoples homes, Tea shops!) at Theatres like the Cliffs Pavilion, Maritime Room, at Festivals and all over the UK (Touring Country show ) the Royal Albert Hall as part of show) In more recent years I sang with the Fishwives (folk) choir at Old Leigh and we were filmed by ITV for a Robson Greene show about the UK coast in 2017! Everywhere!

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I still discover new people all the time! But I grew up listening to Sarah Vaughan and Dave Brubeck (Jazz) Carol King, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder. I love pop music: Chaka Khan is a HUGE influence, Beverly Knight is amazing, George Benson (Groove) Bonnie Raitt for funky bluesy folk and Joni Mitchell for songwriting. So much good music in the world!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

The Robson Jerome show (see above) was cool! All the Theatres I performed at as part of a Country Tour were pretty good! Weymouth Pavillion, Tivoli Theatre, Tunbridge Wells Theatre, Durham Gala Theatre. But every private birthday or event is just as high profile to me, because its special to the client, and you can make or break the atmosphere!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Just give me as much notice as possible and I'm sure I can accommodate your changes. I try to allow some wriggle room with bookings, even if I'm already singing elsewhere before or after your event. Whatever you do, DONT PANIC!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and I actually offer this service for free. If you'd like a additional continuity music via my PA after the final set until the venue closes, I provide this for an additional cost depending on how long you need additional music for. Just chat to me about your needs and see the add on services section.

How much time do you need to set up?

If venue parking/access is good, I usually set up about 30- 60 mins before the performance time. As soon as my PA is set up I can provide free continuity music to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for my live performance! If you need me there really early just chat to me, or see the add on services section for music before the show.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My set lists have come from years of performing and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, I'm definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event, whether your friends are all 80's or 90's fans or just want Jazz etc... With sufficient notice we can work it all out!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes I will have all I need for the performance: PA Lighting Continuity Music You can borrow my microphone in breaks etc. to make any announcements during the evening, or to thank your guests for coming at the end.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in my song list (and I have over 500 on my list!) I'm happy to look into this for you (just need to check key/suitability for my vocal range etc) . There is a fee of £30 for this service to take into account preparation and rehearsal times etc. Please chat to me about this, and see the add on services section.
