From national youth jazz orchestras to the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, from ska bands to country groups, from Indian weddings to Scottish ceilidhs – Josh Landsburgh has done it all. Originally studying under Gordon McNeil, Josh now studies jazz saxophone with Andy Panayi, John O’Gallagher and Mike Williams at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the UK. Here, he (and his group JLQ) is mentored by top jazz musicians like Percy Purseglove and Arnie Somogyi, and also receives masterclasses from the likes of Mark Turner, Dave Liebman and Gilad Hekselman. He’s also had the pleasure of performing as part of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland on both saxophone and violin as part of the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, led by Andrew Bain and Malcolm Edmonstone. Even at 21, outside of jazz college Josh already has a full and varied career. As saxophonist and flautist for the Ska 45s – the youngest ska band in the UK – he’s been lucky enough to support The Beat with Dave Wakeling, The Dualers and The Skatalites. As bandleader and guitarist for the Georgia Johnson Band, he’s had the privilege of performing in New York City as part of NYC Tartan week, and the group are in the process of planning their debut album as well as a return to NYC on an American tour in 2019. With Gleadhraich, he was able to play saxophone, piano and violin in Amsterdam, Lithuania (Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania) and the USA (BB Kings Club and the Cutting Room in NYC), as well as sharing a stage with KT Tunstall. He has also appeared on recordings with Brian May, Ged Grimes and Peter Doherty as well as supporting John Hassall and Skerryvore thanks to his involvement with Craig Weir & the Cabalistic Cavalry. Playing violin, keys, guitar, bass guitar, and singing, this allowed him to perform again in the USA as well as in Germany.

Josh was an absolute joy to work with for our Fiesta Del Brum night! Spoke to our DJ in advance so that we didn't need to be confused by musical jargon, arrived promptly and was frequently mentioned by guests in their reviews of the event.

Josh performed for our Sip 'n Style event at Olivia's Townhouse and really set the mood for our fashion show. He even stuck around to help with sound for our singer after our sound technician let us down. Great musician and great person
