Joseph Boyle

I have been playing music since a very young age, starting with playing piano at age 3. I have been playing the violin since I was 7 and the guitar/bass since I was 14 - double bass is a relatively new addition but as it's the instrument I practice the most it's the one I'm most proficient on. I have also dabbled with drums and various frontline instruments and although I can't play them well enough to be willing to play in public I have a good understanding of how they function in a band situation. I have had many opportunities to play with some big names over the years, including Courtney Pine, as well as having played the Barbican with coaching from the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. I now regularly play jazz gigs around London, in places such as Ronnie Scott's, with various young Jazz musicians as well as doing recording sessions and the occasional pop gig. I am currently working on my debut album, due to be released in early 2018.
