My name is Jordi Francis and I've been drawn to music since a very young age. Unlike many musicians, I didn't grow up in a particularly musical household, but music runs in my blood. My interest in music came from my own childlike curiosity. The first video game I really found myself connecting with was Final Fantasy 9; soundtrack and all. I would sit in front of the screen for hours, not actually going anywhere, with my electronic keyboard in front of me at the age of six. I'd slowly but surely learn how to play all of the different songs by myself, and that's really where things first started for me. I took to YT at the age of 13 and started to try and find my own 'sound'. I was always very inspired by Enya's music whilst growing up. I remember once thinking to myself 'one of these days, I'm gonna be the boy Enya!' ...well hey, some people wanna be doctors, some people wanna be hairdressers... why couldn't I be boy Enya?! In all seriousness though, I wanted to use my voice as an instrument and be able to touch people with my music (not literally, that would be weird). I never had a typically powerful voice, so I decided to just own what I did have. It was at this point that I decided I wanted to learn the harp, so I did. My harp teacher, Misuzu Matsumoto, really helped me discover this beautiful instrument and she still teaches me now. Through YT, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with so many wonderful musicians... singers, composers and instrumentalists that I would never have dreamed of being able to work with. However, there is one particular project that is my pride and joy. Back in 2011, I met my musical soulmate through YT, Merryberrymusic. I think perhaps we were secretly parted at birth, because we work so well together and bring out the best in each other. Our ideas just seem to bounce off of each other! So, we put our heads together and decided to create our channel, Forest Elves. Up until now, that channel has become more popular than my own personal channel, which is just overwhelming and hugely inspiring. Thus, I feel I've become more motivated to focus on my own music too and really explore all there is to explore and I can't wait to see where I end up in the future.
