Jordan Masters

My background is varied (playing in brass bands, orchestras, wind bands, big bands, shows etc.), so I'm able to play in any style. My sight-reading is certainly my strongest attribute. I'm able to improvise over easier keys in a function/big band setting (proper jazz improv requires more practise). Festivals I've played in: Victorious (peoples lounge & world music stage) with Beatroot funk, Cheltenham Jazz Festival with Beatroot Funk. Isle of Wight Festival (with Beatroot funk) Bands I play in: Beatroot Funk, Maury Deans Big Band, Starlight Big Band, Solent Stage Big Band (Director), Titchfield Sinfonia, Bands I dep for: Saints Brass, Brass Holes Band, Brass Breakout Jazz Big Band, Musicals I've played: Hairspray, Bugsy Malone, Chicago (twice), Addams Family (twice), Calamity Jane (twice), Guys & Dolls, Ruddigore, Pirates of Penzance, West Side Story, Freek Street (an indie musical), Showtime (Petersfield), Oliver. Highlights so far: I love playing in the festivals. We have an exciting gig coming up following Snarky Puppy at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival on the free stage as well as playing at the Isle of Wight festival for the first time. I enjoy playing with Saints Brass in a football stadium before a match. Playing alongside incredible musicians in the Titchfield Sinfonia in Titchfield Abbey is also a huge highlight for me.
