Born into a family of classical musicians, music has always been part of my life. Growing up surrounded by it, I started on piano and trumpet before discovering guitar at the beginning of secondary school, and from that point on I never looked back. My earliest experiences of performing came through school bands in Stockport, where passion definitely outweighed ability at first, but the spark was there from day one. Through college and into my professional career, that passion developed into a deep commitment to honing my craft as both a guitarist and performer. That journey led me to study at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, founded by Paul McCartney, where I refined my musicianship, songwriting and performance skills, and met many of the collaborators I still work with today. A particular highlight from that time was taking part in a songwriting tutorial with Paul McCartney himself, an experience that shaped how I think about melody, arrangement and emotional connection in music. Since then, I’ve spent years performing professionally across the UK and Europe, both as a solo musician and in original bands. I’ve had the privilege of supporting acts such as The Libertines, Feeder and The Rifles, playing iconic venues including Alexandra Palace, O2 Academy Brixton and Manchester Academy, alongside many others. These experiences have given me not just technical confidence, but the ability to read a room and shape the energy of a performance to fit the moment. I’ve also recorded with acclaimed producers Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Paulo Nutini) and Rich Turvey, (Blossoms) with my music receiving airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music and XFM and stations around Europe. Alongside performing, teaching has become a huge part of my musical life. Through my work in education as a tutor and Director of Music, I’ve built and developed a music school in Manchester, supporting hundreds of students as well as providing for schools in their own musical journeys. Teaching has deepened my understanding of music and reinforced the importance of connection, communication and adaptability - qualities that carry directly into my performances. My solo acoustic set is centred around instrumental steel-string guitar arrangements of classic and modern songs, reimagined in a soulful, intricate and thoughtful way. From timeless classics to modern favourites, each arrangement is designed to feel familiar yet fresh, creating atmosphere without overwhelming it. Weddings are at the heart of this project, particularly ceremonies and drinks receptions, where live music can help shape some of the most memorable moments of the day. Whether it’s accompanying the walk down the aisle, creating the perfect atmosphere for a drinks reception, or providing a sophisticated soundtrack for corporate events, my goal is always the same: to deliver music that feels personal, thoughtful and unforgettable.
