About Jonathan

Jonny Yeoman, 28. London based, Saxophonist, Pianist and Singer.
Tenor Saxophonist
London
Public liability insurance of £10 million

I started my love of music at an early age with my parents teaching me some piano from the age of 4. At around the age of 6, I started going for regular piano lessons with a private tutor. At age 10, I discovered how much I wanted to play the saxophone and I started getting lessons in that also. I attended a music school throughout my for a few years to improve my playing and it was then I realised that I wanted to do music as a career. I was accepted onto the jazz course at Leeds College of Music and finished with a 2:1 on saxophone. I kept my piano up during this time, still getting many gigs on it even though it wasn’t my primary instrument on the course. Throughout my musical journey I have also attended many choirs and vocal groups to keep my singing up. I now get weekly singing lessons too! Now I’m in London, I am playing a lot of Soul, Funk, Hip-hip, R&B and Jazz music. I am regularly getting work with lots of amazing musicians, many of whom are travelling the world playing with popular artists - The Gorillaz, Niall Horan, Jess Glynne, Rita Ora, Emeli Sandé, to name a few. I just enjoy playing!

Jonathan and I have been performing together for almost a year and he is an exceptionally gifted musician; humble, energetic and enthusiastic. I can't recommend him highly enough, he makes me sound better and is a wonderfully encouraging player. He is brilliant as a soloist and part of a group, he is professional and positive and comes prepared with ideas and inspiration. He would be a joy to have as part of an event/band/concert...Anything really!
