About Jon

Jon has had over 20 years experience in a wide range of choral work covering large choruses to solo work, including television appearances.
singer (Tenor)
Crawley

Jon Brent started his singing career when he was enlisted into a local church choir at the age of 10, and after overcoming his shyness soon rose through the ranks to become Head Chorister of a choir that was cathedral standard before his voice broke at 16. He quickly developed a passion for choral music, developing over his 23 years experience both with large choruses and small ensemble and solo work. Whilst at university, he joined the Brighton Festival Chorus and from that has enjoyed being selected for performances around Europe, at the BBC and even on Chinese State Television. Jon is available for hire as a singer in Sussex/Surrey and surrounding areas, and he can currently be found on Facebook as 'Jon Brent - Tenor'. He is also a member of The Choral Agency, easily found on Google search... In his other musical life, Jon first developed a taste for musical composition when he started to learn the Piano at the age of 8. He built on this to start writing larger scale pieces, mainly focusing on choral works. His current project is his Requiem, and has plans to write some large-scale works in the future, including an opera. Current dreams are to write a film score. That aside, he will be willing to take on any commissions and is adaptable to most genres.

Thank you so much for your efforts on behalf of the Mid Sussex Choir over the last few days. I very much enjoyed having you as a soloist and appreciated your contribution very much. Well done for learning this convincingly in such short time and fitting in so well with the choir and orchestra. You were so easy to work with and I hope the Gloria solo was not dragged out too much but I know you tenors love those top notes!
