John Hartley grew up in Batley in the heart of post-industrial West Yorkshire. He completed his formal education at Cambridge University before traveling the world. His jazz career began in New York at NYU and since settling in London, he has played a bewildering range of venues and events. He averages 60-70 gigs a year, the majority of which are with Love For Sale, London's most booked jazz band. Most of those bookings are as a classic jazz quartet but very happy to put together duos and trios from LFS to match the event.

John, Amy, Ennio and Simon were fabulous - just as for previous reviewers the music was perfect for creating a great party atmosphere, relaxed but interesting and so many compliments from guests! Would recommend them without hesitation. (10 / 10)

We really landed on our feet when we booked Love4Sale to play at Dad’s 80th birthday party. We wanted to arrange a special surprise, and knowing he loved jazz, we booked the band to provide the entertainement. John, Evie, Ennio and Simon (the band) played 3 sets and went down a storm, Dad still can’t get over the evening and being allowed a crack at the drums really made the night for him. I can’t recommend the band highly enough and would certainly book them again. (10 / 10)
