I play Jazz and Pop styles. I use a backing track - which plays quieter than the piano - to enhance the performance for the upbeat tracks and also mix it up with some piano tracks without the backing. From Autumn Leaves to Come Fly with Me to Make You Feel My Love to Imagine. Sometimes I throw in some original material too! I've performed in posh hotels from Florence, Italy, to New York New York in Las Vegas! SMASHHARRY (Music producer | Songwriter) I'm also a songwriter and music producer. New single (Hold On) Saturday Night has just been released under the name SmashHarry. JOHN GERAGHTY (Author) I write instrumental music and write for Pianist Magazine. I have a 6-part jazz improvisation blog series and I'm currently writing a 'How to Play' series featuring different genres including Contemporary Classical, Blues, Gospel and Country to name a few. I have also written five books. My self-teaching comprehensive classical piano course (4 books, 3 CD's and over 2000+ online videos) sells worldwide as far a Australia and even Saudi Arabia! I engaged John Geraghty to play piano at my husband’s birthday party recently. He performed some wonderful, improvised jazz pieces and other music which was so appropriate for our occasion. John played almost continuously for 3 hours and our guests were very impressed and commented on how good he was. John is a superb musician and pianist and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him!

John played at our wedding in August and was absolutely fabulous! He played while the guests were coming in for a couple of hours during drinks and also during the ceremony which made our day even more special!

What do your clients love most about your performances?

That I play really well. The music creates a nice warm atmosphere.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Kew Gardens for a wedding reception. Private house functions and restaurants. I played at New York New York in Vegas one time for a UK vs USA piano playoff! Played in Tenerife in a late night bar/restaurant with the saxophonist from Gloria Estefan's Miami Sound Machine.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Otis Spann (blues pianist)

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

New York New York UK-USA playoff.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

No problems. I'm versatile!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. No problem. Let me the type of songs you want in between and I'll add them!

How much time do you need to set up?

If the piano is there, I tend to play with a soft backing track. This would take less than 5 minutes to set up. If you require me to bring my own electric piano I would have to bring along the PA to connect it through. This would take between 15-30 depending on where I've parked in order to bring in the equipment.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Yes please! As long as it's in tune!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course. If there's a special song that's not in the set list, please let me know and I'll be happy to learn it for you. This is a free service (1 song included). If you want any more songs the fee will be an extra £30 per song.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes. No problem at all.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes. If it's not in the set list please let me know. This is included in the fees. Also, if you have any singers in your group of friends who would like to sing on the day, let me know so I can prepare it. This goes the same if you have someone who would like to have a 'jam' with me. Perhaps a guitarist..as long as they are proficient on their instrument.
