Hi – although I already have a pretty extensive list of songs I know, I love to learn new songs, so my biggest strength for gigs is being able to learn new material. I will be able to provide a tailor-made set list for your event. I started playing guitar when I was five, in 1965, and I’ve been learning songs ever since (my music degree helped a lot). Extra info: I was Ian Broudie on Stars in their Eyes in 1999. My second job is working as an extra in TV and film). Thanks for reading! John

John played at an afternoon garden pub party we had organised to celebrate the life of my Dad. We wanted some live music to provide a nice atmosphere and requested music from my dads era 60/70s. John pitched it perfectly in terms of volume and the songs he played. The music and singing were excellent, and he took some song requests from the party attendees. Afterwards he stayed for a drink and chatted to our guests for a bit. Highly recommend.

John played two excellent sets. Everyone enjoyed the music. We choose some of the songs and he played them really well. John was perfect for my 60th birthday party!

We have had John play over the Brecon Jazz many times, and we always enjoy the huge variety of songs he brings! He has a voice similar to James Taylor, which is light but upbeat, and he sings a mixture of pop, rock, country and chart hits from the present day back to the rock and roll era. We like his own material too, which is quirky folk. We would strongly recommend him .

John is one of our favourite performers - he has played here quite a few times. As well as bringing a fresh, improvised feel, we enjoy the way he interacts with the audience - friendly and funny! We have had him play on New Year's Eve, too. He doesn't just play covers, he brings his own personality to them!
