Joe Prescott is an outgoing, versatile, energetic musician specialising in Conducting and Trumpet. He is sought-after for his dynamic and engaging teaching style, and his choral pedagogical experience. From a chorister at Lichfield Cathedral, Joe went on to study Linguistics with a choral & brass scholarship at the University of Kent where he was awarded numerous music prizes as well as the opportunity conduct and work with singers at Canterbury Cathedral. He continues his passion for choral conducting professionally with The Parliament Choir, Invicta Upper Voices, Morgan Stanley workplace choir and numerous youth choirs within the borough of Lewisham. Joe has been under the tutelage of Amy Bebbington (Royal Academy of Music) and Mark Griffiths (Coro). Equally, Joe has a lustrous career as a Trumpet player studying under Martin Speake (Royal Academy of Music) and Mike Lovatt (John Wilson Orchestra & 42nd Street) at his time at Kent. Having recorded at Abbey Road Studios early this year Joe has performed at Glastonbury, Wembley Stadium, BBC broadcasting house, Alexandra Palace, The Roundhouse as well as frequently playing across the world in Serbia, France, Germany, Spain and The Netherlands.  Teaching is also a huge passion within his musical life. Joe is Head of Music at Gordonbrock Primary School and Music Lead at three primary schools within Newham and Lewisham. Joe previously worked with the Children’s cast of School of Rock the musical in the West End.

Joe performed as the lead trumpeter in the pit orchestra of our musical production 'Crazy For You'. What do your clients love most about your performances?

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios early this year Performed at Glastonbury, Wembley Stadium, BBC broadcasting house, Alexandra Palace, The Roundhouse as well as frequently playing across the world in Serbia, France, Germany, Spain and The Netherlands. 

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

Great question, my Trumpet hero is Wynton Marsalis! Not many players have such stunning tone but also have complete control over the instrument!

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

Tough one - I would say opening The Truth Stage at Glastonbury in front of 6,500 people!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Absolutely no problem at all! Drop me a message and we can adapt things round for you.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Of course! I have a set of DJs with my own Horn section HJ Horns that can not only provide a DJ service between sets but DJ plus horns/percussion/strings!

How much time do you need to set up?

Not much at all, maximum 1-1.5 hours as soon as a PA is set up we have a set list ready to go to create the atmosphere you would like!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Definitely, my job is to adapt for what you would like for your event! Whether that is a certain song, dance or anything you have in mind I'm sure we can chat it through and make sure we find what works for you!

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely! I bring my own instrument to play acoustically as well as electronically if needed with pedals!

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Definitely, let us know what the song us and we can even create an special arrangement just for you!
