Joseph Fisher (Viola) - Biography
Somerset Born, Joseph was a scholarship student at Wells Cathedral School and then completed his undergraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music in 2011, whilst at the Academy he was the principal violist in the symphony and concert orchestras, he was also a member of the Royal Academy Soloists. After his studies he took up the position of Students Union President at the Academy, where he was presented to Her Majesty the Queen to receive a Diamond Jubilee Award on behalf of the Royal Academy of Music.
In 2013 he finished being a member of the Southbank Sinfonia, where he performed in various venues around the UK and worked closely with the top Orchestras of London. In March 2013 he appeared as a Soloist with this Southbank Sinfonia performing Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in St Johns Waterloo. In February 2015 he was invited back to Southbank Sinfonia as a soloist to play Bloch’s Prayer for a concert at JW3.
In 2014/2015 he took part in the Hallé String Leadership Scheme playing frequently with the Hallé orchestra. Now back in London he is currently on trial with the Philharmonia. Previous trials include Co-Principal Violist with the Royak Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra He also plays regularly with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
