Music has always been my greatest passion, and it’s what drives me to create unique live experiences for every audience I play for. As a solo acoustic and electric artist, I love blending classic and contemporary sounds, bringing them to life through looping technology. This allows me to build rich layers of sound in real time, making my performances dynamic and tailored to the mood of the moment. Whether you’re looking for something laid-back and intimate or upbeat and energetic, I can adapt to create exactly the atmosphere you want for your event. My journey as a musician began with a deep love for guitar and songwriting. Over the years, I've honed my craft, not only through extensive practice but also by performing at a variety of venues and events, each experience shaping the way I connect with audiences. I’ve had the privilege of performing at key venues across London, including my recent set at Ealing Broadway, and have worked with a range of clients seeking music that’s both heartfelt and engaging. One of the things that sets me apart is my versatility. I can perform solo with acoustic or electric guitar, integrating looping techniques to build full, immersive soundscapes, or I can bring in a full band if your event calls for it. This flexibility means you can tailor the musical setup to your specific needs, whether it's a low-key acoustic set or a larger, high-energy performance. Over the years, I’ve performed at everything from intimate weddings and private parties to larger events and festivals. I’m comfortable engaging crowds of all sizes, and my goal is always to create a memorable experience for your guests. Professionalism is at the heart of everything I do. I take pride in being punctual, prepared, and easy to work with, ensuring that the music is one less thing for you to worry about on your big day. My equipment is top-notch, and I’m fully self-sufficient, which means you can count on high-quality sound, no matter the size or location of your event. Whether you're looking for someone to provide the perfect background music, a lively set that gets everyone on the dance floor, or something in between, I'm confident that I can deliver exactly what you need. If you want a solo performer who can create a big sound with live looping or a full band to bring the energy, I’ll work closely with you to make sure your event hits the right notes. Let’s make your event unforgettable!

Joe was fantastic at our corporate event at the London Hilton Metropole. His acoustic roaming set created the perfect atmosphere, and our guests loved the personal touch of him singing and playing cajon without a mic. He was professional, engaging, and brought great energy to the event. We couldn’t have been happier with his performance and would definitely book him again!

We were beyond thrilled with Joe Bateman’s performance at our wedding! His looping skills brought such a unique and vibrant energy to the day. From building layers of sound live on the spot to transitioning effortlessly between acoustic ballads and upbeat tracks, Joe created an unforgettable musical experience. Our guests were in awe of his talent and creativity, and he had everyone on the dance floor by the end of the night! Joe was also incredibly easy to work with, flexible with our requests, and ensured every song fit the atmosphere perfectly. Whether it was a delicate instrumental during dinner or an epic looped set for dancing, Joe made each moment magical. I can't recommend him enough—he truly made our wedding day unforgettable!

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Clients love the energy and personal connection I bring to each performance. Whether it’s through engaging with the crowd or creating the perfect atmosphere, I tailor every set to the vibe of the event. They often comment on my versatility, whether performing solo with a looper or with a full band, and the ability to keep guests dancing all night.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I’ve performed at venues like The Bedford, The Troubadour, and The Water Rats, as well as house parties, wedding hotels, and private events. Each venue has offered a unique experience, from intimate acoustic sets to larger gigs with full stage setups, making every performance memorable.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

I’ve been heavily influenced by a range of artists across genres, including John Mayer, Elton John, and Ed Sheeran. Their ability to fuse emotion with technical skill has inspired my own style, blending elements of pop, rock, and acoustic singer-songwriter vibes to create something unique for every audience.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

One of the most high-profile gigs I’ve performed was at a private event hosted at The Shard in London. The atmosphere was incredible, playing for a mix of industry professionals and high-profile guests. It was an unforgettable experience that showcased my ability to adapt to an upscale and dynamic crowd.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to ensure your event runs smoothly. If your timings change slightly leading up to the event, just let me know, and I'll do my best to accommodate.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely! This is a common request, and I offer it for free between sets. If you’d like a DJ service via my PA after the final set until the venue closes, I can provide this for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

I typically need 20 minutes to set up before the performance if it is an acoustic performance or 45 minutes if I am with a full band.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

My set lists are crafted from experience, and I know what works best to keep guests dancing and having a great time. However, I'm happy to chat and make sure we find what works best for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, I bring all the necessary equipment. If I'm performing with a band, we’ll bring lights and a full PA system. For acoustic performances, I’ll have my PA, looper, and everything needed to deliver a great sound.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn’t in my song list, I may already know it. If there’s something special you'd like me to learn, I’m happy to do that for a small fee of £30 to cover rehearsal time.
