Joe Barber

I live and work as a musician in Oxford, where I am currently studying for my doctorate. I was the organ scholar at Balliol College for four years, where I was responsible for managing chapel music, including running and directing the choir, and accompanying weekly services of choral evensong. I was also organist for the Frideswide Voices for a year and a half. After graduating, I was director of music at All Saints Church, Headington, and now at St Margaret's Church, Oxford. When not busy with these jobs, I am often depping in and around Oxford as an organist, conductor or singer. I have also played the violin for many years, and have been involved in many high-standard orchestras and ensembles while in Oxford. I am experienced both with larger orchestral playing and have had much chamber music experience, including playing with the Bate Players - Oxford's student historically informed performance ensemble.
